I work at a printing company where we do multiple page proofs for different people with different designs - I like to print out a Thumbnail proof so they can see different designs on one page. Is there anyway in Indesign cs2 that you can take off the big shadow that prints? Everyone keeps asking if that's what is going to print and on occasion people will come back and ask where is my shadow that printed (they thought it would actually print). It also gets in the way of the complete design. I can tell them it's not going to print but sometimes we all get forgetful.
It is a fantastic feature to use.
Thank you all for any help - Dedicated Indesign User
P.S. I posted this in the Wish List section and they told me to post it here - so please excuse the double post.

What Steve should have said is there is no way to take off the shadow in InDesign's Print dialog box.

However, if you create an Acrobat page (or pages) from that Print dialog box, you can then open the PDF of the thumbnails in Acrobat Pro.

Then, use the Touch Up Object tool (found in Advanced Editing). You can easily click those vector objects (a poor simulation of a shadow) and delete them.

And then print from that document.

It's a few extra steps, but if it fixes your problem, then it's worth it.

It's tricky. But you need to click just on the shadow area.

Sorry took so long to get back - I can't seem to select just the shadow - is this because I actually did the thumbnail print in the Indesign print dialog box and Indesign automatically generated the big drop shadow? Also, is there a way in Acrobat to select certain things on a flattened pdf or is there a way to make a pdf unflattened so you can select different object (like an ungroup)?
Thank you so much for your help!
