Can you make an opacity mask in InDesign CS2 like you can in
Illustrator?

Simple as that!

Thanks in advance...
Clayton.

No. Not like Illustrator. It is possible to Copy your object or group
and use Paste Into to put it into another frame, then feather that
frame to give it a soft edge. If the contents are towards one side and
the frame is very large (imagine the contents taking up the left
middle square of a Rubik's Cube), then the feather will only affect
the side of the contents that's against the side of the frame (in the
Rubik's Cube example, the left edge of the group will fade).
